Tony Tschetter-Breed writes

Indie rockers: lazy and selfish?

According to a new study from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh:

Indie: Devotees have low self-esteem and are not very hard-working, kind or generous.

However, they are creative.

My experience has been a little different.

Maybe it’s because the crew here at CHIRP is much more than a bunch of “indie rock devotees” — our volunteers tend to have very broad tastes — but I have found this group to be very hard-working.

And as to the question of generosity, well, the donations we’ve received at the fairs we’ve been to this summer give lie to that as well. Or maybe you all are also not just a bunch of “indie rock devotees”. Maybe we’re all just broad-minded music enthusiasts!

…Meanwhile, if you’re feeling generous today, you can click on the “donate” button to the left — or check out our list of material needs for starting a new radio station.
