CHIRP + Coach House Sounds Present: Bare Mutants

On Tuesday, November 7th, CHIRP + Coach House Sounds present Bare Mutant’s live session, available for stream and download at www.coachhousesounds.com . CHIRP is very proud to present this new project from The Ponys‘ Jered Gummere, which includes members of The 1900′s and Mannequin Men. Listen to CHIRPradio.org for preview tracks and check out the ALL CAPS interview below!

1. What the dumbest thing you’ve ever done in a basement?

I USED TO HAVE MY FRIENDS OVER ON WEDNESDAYS WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL TO SMOKE BONGS AND WATCH 90210 AND MELROSE PLACE IN

MY MOMS BASEMENT. THATS PRETTY DUMB!

2. Can you tell me about one time when you realized this was YOUR city?

I DONT REALLY THINK OF CHICAGO AS MY CITY. CHICAGO IS GREAT BECAUSE OF ALL THE DIFFERENT CULTURES, ARTS AND GENUINELY CRAZY

PEOPLE THAT INHABIT THIS PLACE. THERE IS NO REAL EGO TO THIS CITY, PEOPLE JUST COME HERE TO LIVE, WORK AND DRINK TOO MUCH

IN THE WINTER.

3. Describe a scenario where Bare Mutants could be someone’s life coach and the top 2 life lessons you’d teach them.
IF WE WERE SOMEONE’S LIFE COACH THEY MUST BE REALLY DESPERATE FOR ADVICE:
LESSON 1 STOP BEING A DICK

LESSON 2 DRINK MORE TEQUILA

4. Tell me about your CHS session—what did you like about it? Was there anything that surprised you or was spontaneous

that came out in the recording?

THE FIRST THING THAT CAME TO MIND WAS THAT IT WAS RECORDED ON TAPE, ALTHOUGH LOT’S OF STUDIOS STILL MAINTAIN A TAPE

MACHINE, ITS SOME WHAT BECOMING A LOST ART. ALSO WHAT SURPRISED ME WAS HOW SPONTANEOUS IT WAS. WE ROLLED IN, SET UP, AND

MAYBE PLAYED FOR TWENTY MINUTES OR SO AND THAT WAS THAT. GREAT FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO HAVE SHORT ATTENTION SPANS.

5. What’s happening? What are your current/upcoming shows or releases?

WE HAVE A SHOW COMING UP ON NEW YEARS EVE WITH DISAPPEARS AND OUTER MINDS AT THE EMPTY BOTTLE. WE ARE ALSO RELEASING A 7”

RECORD WITH HOZAC RECORDS EARLY NEXT YEAR AND PLAN ON WORKING ON A FULL LEGNTH IN JANUARY.
