CHIRP Radio is an all-volunteer effort. We would like to introduce you to some of the people who make the station what it is!
Carolyn Kassnoff was born and raised in Rochester, NY. She received her BFA from the School of Art & Design at Alfred University (New York State), where she studied photography and neon bending. She moved to Chicago in the summer of 2009, and now resides in beautiful Bucktown.
She fell in love with radio at college (WALF Alfred), and began volunteering with CHIRP shortly before the station’s stream went live.
Carolyn began DJing on CHIRP in January of 2010. Her favorite part is taking requests and giving out concert tickets. Now she volunteers as a sub DJ, while writing album reviews of new artists that she thinks others would love to hear.
She has a strong passion for both art and music, and spends her free time drawing or creating bioluminescent sea creatures.
The work of the Chicago Independent Radio Project is supported in part by a generous grant from the Crossroads Fund. More information at crossroadsfund.org.
